課程概述

This course is designed to introduce students how to properly write in the academic context and to professionally present their work. 

課程目標
Throughout the course, students are expected to sharpen their writing and presentation skills required for academic development. 
課程要求
This course builds on the foundation taught in Research Methodology, which focused on introducing research approaches and research designs. These topics will be reviewed briefly at the beginning of this course and in addition will cover: conference abstract, the statement of purpose, research statement, writing summaries/critiques, constructing a research paper, and revising a paper for a journal submission.
Students are also required to attend at least 5 GIL talks throughout the semester. Students may choose whichever talks students are interested in. Notice that even for topics/subfields that students are not particularly interested in, students can still learn a lot from the speakers, e.g., the presentation style, the overall organization, etc. For each of the talks students attended, students are required to submit a one-page, typed, single-spaced critique.
